It's all about the surroundings!

I haven't been feeling the best these last few days and not really sure what I'm fighting off.....if anything at all.  My energy level is in the toilet. Things are still sore that I'd rather not have be sore, but I don't think that will change until May 21rst...so, it is what it is!

Today after church we went to the grocery store to pick up a few supplies I needed for all the meals I wanted to make for the upcoming week.  After the store on the way home we took my "what's supposed to be black but is white from all the salt" car through the car wash.  February makes for dirty cars from all the snow and crap.  She's now nice and clean and black again!  While watching all the dirt being washed away off my car,  I thought to myself how easy it could be for ourselves to wash away all the crap from our minds by just letting them wash themselves away.  So, for now, I consider all the negative thoughts of my mind washed away!

I cooked for 2.5 hours after church and then watched "I Love Lucy" for 2 hours afterwards. Complete bliss in my book!
During the last episode I got an itch.....an itch to swing my kettlebell.  It is kind of nice outside..IMO...it's bright and sunny.  It's 20 degrees and no wind.  Since it's 20 degrees, I took my 20kg outside in the driveway.  With the ski hill in my view right down the road and seeing the skiers go down the hill having fun, I did this "basic" routine....
2-handed swings w/20kg.  20 reps x 20 rounds for 400 swings.  Simple in the fact that I didn't have to concentrate too much on counting.  I was easily able to watch the skiers and all the cars coming and going from our subdivision. It was really nice.  I'm enjoying swinging outside way more and more, no matter what the temperature is.  I love to swing in jeans-no special "workout" clothes are necessary for kettlebells.  Each round was 30 seconds work/30 seconds rest-a fun, challenging and quick 20 minute workout!

I am so glad that I don't do any workouts in a gym......not that I am condolling any such activity....but for me it's not my cup of tea.  I prefer the elements to any stinky gym any day.  Stinky, germy and useless machines are of no attraction to me....give me good old fashioned kettlebell swinging, tire flippin, rope swinging, bird food bags carrying, sledgehammer hamming anyday!  Those are my favorite surroundings!

And now for some great words to live by..........

I really love this next one.........I know EXACTLY what this lady is feeling!  This quote is so true!  We all start somewhere and we're all on our way to being great!

Until next time.........Blessings!

  1. I'd much rather be outside too. But can't get my swim and bike workouts done outside a lot these days. Looking forward to spring...
Sending you good vibes for a surge of energy and positive thoughts for your upcoming surgery. Just keep smilin', swingin' and most of all, keep the faith. HUGS
